A Little Bit About Us:

We were married in the small town of Trinidad, Colorado in 1978. After teaching high school for nineteen years, George worked in passive solar adobe construction and together we cared for 8 handicapped adults. In 1983 we purchased a small retail health food business and managed it for the next ten years. We were active in co-pastoring our home church, leading worship and teaching Sunday school.

Our Calling:

In 1993, in answer to God’s call to vocational ministry in missions, we sold our business. The next year we enrolled in a Leadership Development School with Youth With A Mission. Upon completion of the school we traveled to Guatemala to study Spanish and attend a Primary Health Care School with YWAM Guatemala. In 1996, we began working with Students International.

In the early days of working with Students International we worked in the area of Dentistry and Health Care, leading student teams in Hermano Pedro Hospital and laboring together with nationals in the villages of Magdalena, Santa Maria de Jesus, Paley, Comolapa, Patzun, and Calderas.

In 1998 the Lord blessed us with the special and precious gift of our adopted son, Jose. In our latter years with Students International we served in leadership and various other capacities.

In Feb of 2004 we made the decision to return to the U.S. to begin a lengthy process of meeting Jose’s medical needs. Jose was born with a bi-lateral cleft lip and palate and is now at the developmental stage of needing extensive orthodontics, bone transplants, and other surgical procedures on his lip and nose.

In October of 2004, with a heart to remain connected to missions and Guatemala, we began working as Servant Team Directors with Mission Impact. Currently we live and work from our home base in Southern Colorado.

Prayer Requests and Praises:

  • God’s enablement and empowering as we begin serving with MI
  • Continued progress with Jose’s orthodontics
  • Wisdom in the oversight of Jose’s educational needs
  • Stamina to prepare our home for possible sale in 2005
  • Divine direction for a possible move to the Colorado Springs vicinity
