How long do I sponsor the child?
Child Sponsorship continues as long as the child stays in school or until the child and family move out of the area where we minister. We ask for a minimum commitment of one year but many sponsors enjoy supporting the child throughout his years at school.
How much does it cost?
Sponsorship costs $30 a month or $360 a year for a child. You may make monthly, quarterly or yearly payments online or mail in your support to Mission Impact.
What does my $30 a month cover/provide?
Your sponsorship will cover the cost involved in providing a holistic Christian education for your child. As part of the Sowing Hope program, the students receive specialized classes in English, Bible, Computers, Music, Home Economics, Industrial Arts, Cooking and Sewing. Visiting Doctors and Dentist provide medical care as needed .
Where do the children attend school?
Mission Impact currently partners with two rural Christian schools in Guatemala. You can choose a child from either Escuela Vida y Esperanza, a Pre K- 9th grade school in Santa Lucia Milpas Altas, or Proximos Pasos, an all girls elementary school in Santa Maria de Jesus.
Can I communicate with the my sponsored child?
We encourage you to send cards and letters to your sponsored child. The children love to receive photos of you and your family. All correspondance must go through Mission Impact and will be translated by our bilingual staff. Keep the letters simple and share about your family, pets, job and hobbies and your favorite Bible verses.
